Just before they Wayward Sons soundcheck for the Newcastle Upon Tyne night of the headline tour, at the rather splendid Riverside, Toby Jepson very kindly spent some time with Rock-Zone UK to have a chat about life with the Wayward Sons, songwriting, some thoughts about areas that young bands should be thinking about and music in general. Just click on the player below to listen.
First off I asked how the tour was going and how he felt the band had developed in what is still a relatively short time since formation.
There are still some dates left on the tour and if you can get to one of the you MUST. The show is absolutely amazing but if you can’t make this one they have big plans for the next few months including Download, the Saxon tour and I could have sworn Toby mentioned another headline tour later in the year. PLus, don’t forget that to coincide with the headline shows, Wayward Sons will be releasing a brand new single “Don’t Wanna Go”, taken from their debut album “Ghosts Of Yet To Come”, a vinyl picture disc edition of which is available to pre-order from the Wayward Sons merch store now – get there via http://www.waywardsonsband.com/
