Randy Blythe’s 10-month ordeal is at an end after Czech judges acquitted him of manslaughter.
The Lamb Of God frontman last year spent five weeks in a Prague prison, accused of causing the death of fan Daniel Nosek in 2010.
It was alleged he’d pushed Nosek off the stage during a Lamb Of God show, leading to a head injury which later caused his death.
But even as he faced a 10-year jail sentence Blythe’s thoughts remained with the bereaved. He said: “I would like to thank the family of Daniel Nosek for not attacking me in the press, and for their kind words to me in this court. I am very sorry for their loss.”
The singer, who also vowed to take his punishment “like a man” if he’d been found guilty, later added: “I am a free man. Please remember the family of Daniel Nosek in your thoughts and prayers in this difficult time. I only wish for them peace. Thank you for your support.”
