Sebastian Bach is asking fans to pray for his former touring drummer Mark ‘Bam Bam’ McConnell, who is ‘fighting for his life’ at a Gainesville, Fla., hospital.
While Bach didn’t specify McConnell’s ailment, a detailed comment on the drummer’s Facebook page states that the musician’s liver and kidneys shut down, and that he suffered partial brain damage. The same commenter reported that she spoke to the stickman’s wife Rikki and there was some hope that McConnell could pull through.
Bach himself made a plea to fans on his Facebook page, as follows:
Everybody, please say a prayer. My friend & live drummer for years, also on “Bring ‘Em Bach Alive” Mark Bam Bam McConnell is fighting for his life right now in hospital in Gainesville Florida. Miracles can happen though so everyone have Bam Bam in your hearts & prayers please. He is an amazing drummer & life long friend. We love you Bam Bam you can kick this in the ass just like you play your drums!! Fight hard buddy we all wanna rock with you we love ya dude.
McConnell played in Bach’s touring band from 1997 through 2005, after the singer had parted ways with Skid Row in 1996. The drummer also played with the band Blackfoot from 2006 to 2007.
