The members of Black Sabbath will be back on the road playing a handful of dates this summer, and when they do, there will be new merchandise to sell.
The group has revealed a new partnership with Bravado, the world’s leading merchandise company, who will provide the items sold on the road. The company will commemorate the launch of the Black Sabbath Collection with contests held in the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany, in which T-shirt designers will be allowed to submit Black Sabbath-inspired designs.
In the U.S., Hot Topic will sponsor the “Design Your Own Black Sabbath T-Shirt” competition, with one lucky winner having their creation sold exclusively at Hot Topic outlets. Similar contests will be held in the United Kingdom and Germany by other retail outlets. The winning entrants will also receive a lithograph signed by the members of the band in honor of their efforts. Interested designers should click here to download assets and enter the contest.
Bravado CEO Tom Bennett stated, “Bravado is dedicated to working with the most talented and most popular artists of our time. To many, Black Sabbath transcend their music. They not only create a genre, but they then elevated it to have a place in pop culture. I can’t wait to see what kind of products they create with us.”
The group played an intimate hometown gig in Birmingham, England, on Saturday, May 19, with drummer Tommy Clufetos stepping in for Bill Ward, who was unable to reach a contract agreement with the band. Sabbath are also set to co-headline the Download Music Festival in Donnington Park, England, next month and headline Lollapalooza in Chicago this August.
