Motor City Madman will meet US security agents backstage after they say they’re “aware” of his comments which some call threat on President Obama’s life.
Ted Nugent will meet his Secret Service admirers tonight (April 19) in Oklahoma, according a report from the Bloomberg news service.
The Loudman is playing a show at the exotically named 2 Frogs Grill in Ardmore. He has apparently given the security agents backstage passes!
The Nuge quipped: “I’m sure it will be a fine gathering backstage in Oklahoma.”
This follows the guitarist’s comments at a National Rifle Association convention, when he said of President Barack Obama:
“If Barack Obama becomes the President in November, again, I will be either be dead or in jail by this time next year. We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November.
“It’s good people who bent over and let the enemy in. If the coyote’s in your living room pissing on your couch, it’s not the coyote’s fault. It’s your fault for not shooting him.”
It’s against the law in the States to make any threatening comments against the President.
During a radio interview yesterday, Uncle Ted insisted: “I’ve never threatened anybody’s life in my life. I don’t waste my breath threatening.”
US Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary said: “We are aware of the incident with Ted Nugent, and we are conducting appropriate follow-up. We recognise an individual’s right to freedom of speech but we also have a responsibility to determine and investigate intent.”
