Blackfoot are currently recording a new album – except that not one original member is now in the celebrated southern rock band.
While the band have toured in recent years with a decreasing connection to what many regard as the classic Blackfoot era in the early 1980s, now they’ve gone for a completely new-look line-up. This features Phil Shouse (lead vocals/guitar), Tim Rossi (lead vocals/guitar), Brian Carpenter (bass/vocals) and Christopher Williams (drums/vocals).
But at least Rickey Medlocke is back involved, after an absence of 15 years. Now with complete control over the name, not only did he hand select the new musicians, but is heavily involved in the writing and recording of a new studio album, due for release in the autumn.
Medlocke says of this Blackfoot incarnation: “I have spent months putting together this amazing line-up, full of explosive high energy just as it was in the ealy 80s.
“I am proud these guys represent the future of Blackfoot music and will brign it to an all new generation.”
