A statement yesterday from one of the main people involved with the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame appeared to confirm that Guns N’ Roses will not perform at the ceremony when they’re inducted on April 14.
A tweet yesterday – supposedly from Paul Shaffer, the musical director and producer of the event – simply said: “Guns N’ Roses will not be performing.”
But now it’s being claimed that the message wasn’t actually posted by Shaffer himself.
It appears Shaffer’s Twitter account is run in conjunction with Paul Shaffer’s Day In Rock, a daily 60-second radio slot on the history of rock. And someone else connected with this programme might have been responsible for the above tweet.
Just to confirm the situation: right now nobody is sure what Guns will – or won’t – do at the induction ceremony in Cleveland. We’re not even sure whether Axl Rose will be late on stage. Hell, he might even be early… it’s that confusing!
