U2, Bon Jovi, Rush and Mötley Crüe are among the Top 40 earners in music.
That’s according to a list compiled by Billboard. Artists’ rankings were based on US income sources from tours, album sales and publishing royalties. Billboard said it didn’t factor in “sponsorships, merchandise sales or synchronisation deals” (whatever they are).
U2 come in at No.2, having made $32.116 million in the last year. Bon Jovi are at No.7, with earnings of $19.813 million.
If you’re interested, No.1 is country-music popstrel Taylor Swift, with earnings in excess of $35 million – that’s £22.323 million in UK sterling.
Other Classic Rock-friendly artists to make the list are:
12. Journey ($12.313 million)
17. Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band ($10.017 million)
31. Foo Fighters ($6.013 million)
32. Rush ($5.819 million)
38. Mötley Crüe ($5.376 million)
Shockingly, there’s no place for Cannibal Corpse or Rocky Shades!
