Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones had an emergency operation on his heart last week, according to a US report.
Jones is said to have checked into the Mount Sinai Heart Institute in Miami Beach, Florida. After the surgery, he was treated in an intensive care ward but was moved out of the specialist unit on Thursday night [February 23].
A source is quoted as saying: “The surgery was more urgent because Mick had needed it for some time.”
Thankfully, Jones is said to be up and walking around already, so the surgery appears to have been successful.
Last year Jones missed several Foreigner shows through illness, forcing the band to play with no original members.
A Foreigner spokesman refused to confirm the nature of Jones’ complaint at the time.
