Rod Stewart wants to reunite with the surviving members of The Faces when the band are inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame next year. But the prospect of a re-formation of the classic Guns N Roses line-up at the event looks slim.
Speaking toRolling Stone, Stewart said he is hoping to play live with his old bandmates Ronnie Wood, Kenney Jones and Ian McLagan at the induction ceremony on April 14, 2012.
Its something that I would want to do, said Stewart, but its getting a commitment from Ronnie, who is hanging on to what the Rolling Stones are going to do. But Id love it. If theyre all available Ill definitely make myself available.
Stewart was inducted into the Hall Of Fame as a solo artistin 1994. Simply Reds Mick Hucknall has recently been performing as The Faces frontman.
By contrast, former Guns N Roses drummer Steve Adler doesnt anticipate the classic GNR line-up reuniting at the 2012 Hall Of Fame, where the band are also among the inductees.
Adler toldRolling Stone: Unfortunately, I dont foresee it. You figure that time could heal all wounds, but some people just really hold a crazy grudge.
When it comes to after I left, I do believe that Matt Sorum and Dizzy Reed both have every right to be inducted too.
However, Adler didnt write off a GNR reunion completely.
He added: I know theres love between all five of us. I know there is. Not just four of us, five of us. Five. We owe it to the fans. The least we can do is give them one great performance. My fingers are crossed. My toes are crossed!
